Photography

I understand that:

• Staff, and photographers acting on behalf of the school, may take images/video footage for use in displays, website, social media, DVDs, publications or external educational websites associated with the school.
• The local media may take images or video footage of activities that show the school and children in a positive light.

If parents/guardians wish images to be removed they can do so at any time by contacting the principal directly *

Educational Trips

I would like my child to go on educational trips to support learning that goes on in the classroom.*

Intimate Care

It is the policy of St. John’s Eglish Primary School to involve the child in their intimate care and to try to encourage the child’s independence as far as possible in his/her intimate care.

• Where a child has “wet” him/herself, he/she will be accompanied to the toilet by two staff members. The child will be afforded the opportunity to change him/herself into the underwear provided (which is available from the class teacher/ Principal’s office). Parents/ Carers will be informed.
• Where the child requires more intimate care (e.g soils him/herself), the parent/carer will be contacted immediately and asked to come to school to assist the child or to take him/ her home. The child will be reassured while awaiting the arrival of his/her parent/carer.
• We will treat every child with dignity and respect and at all times will ensure privacy appropriate to the child’s age and situation. We will try to involve the child in his/her own intimate care, where appropriate. We will endeavour to ensure that our practice in intimate care is consistent. A record of the intimate care given will be recorded and parents/ carers will be notified.

I will ask a teacher or classroom assistant if I want to use the computers.
I will only use activities that a teacher or classroom assistant has told me or allowed me to use.
I will take care of the computer and other equipment.
I will ask for help from a teacher or classroom assistant if I am not sure what to do or if I think I have done something wrong.
I will tell a teacher or classroom assistant if I see something that upsets me on the screen.
I know that if I break the rules I might not be allowed to use a computer. *

As a parent, I will support the school’s e-safety policy and encourage my child to adopt safe use of the internet and digital technologies at home. I will inform the school if I have any concerns over my child’s e-safety.
